Joys:
Give thanks for the 46 campers from the Northern Lights region spending this coming week together at Camp Gwinwood, including the five youth from our congregation and myself! It was a full, spirit-filled week of making new friends, late night giggles, Gwinwood Olympic Games, and learning more about God's amazing love. Check out some photos from camp on the sign-up bulletin board in the narthex! I'm grateful for our elders and staff who helped keep things moving along this week in my absence, and grateful today in particular for Ben, our choir, and for the gift of music as we sing the hymns of our faith today. You're invited to grab a tambourine or drum or whatever you'd like and join in however you feel so moved.
Among our concerns:
We add to our prayers, Bill Poores who was involved in a car accident after worship last Sunday. He is okay but sustained some rather painful injuries and is recouping at home.

Among our local and global community:
We add to our prayers those throughout California and Oregon in the midst of this wildfire season, particularly at present in Northern California. We pray for the human communities and all the natural communities and and wildlife in harm's way, for those affected not just by fire threat itself but by air pollution and the environmental impact of the fires. We pray for first responders, and for those who are doing the hard work of containing them.
In the midst of ongoing military action in the midst of conflict between Palestine and Israel, we offered our renewed prayers for peace and hope to overcome militarism, sectarianism and nationalism. We pray for all in harm's way and for those whose dignity and safety have been compromised due to propaganda and political scheming.
We pray for peace throughout the world. For an end to violence in all its forms, including those perpetuated in the guise of national interest. We pray for Palestine and Gaza, for those intwined in war in Israel and Yemen, for Ukraine, for those in conflict fighting for justice in Bangladesh, for Afghanistan, Somalia, and in many more places around the world.
We pray for the village on 6th and Orchard, for those who find themselves without shelter.
We pray for our Global Ministry partners this week in the Marshall Islands.
